Matrimony
Matrimony
Matrimony unites a man and a woman in a lifelong, exclusive, and life-giving union. It's a vocation of holiness and service in family life.
Overview

Matrimony is the sacrament in which a man and a woman are united in a lifelong bond of love and commitment. Through their exchange of vows and the blessing of the priest, the couple is joined together in a covenant of love that reflects the love of Christ for his Church.

At the heart of the sacrament of Matrimony is the belief that marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman, a covenant of love that reflects the love of Christ for his Church. The sacrament of Matrimony is not just a legal contract or a social convention, but a covenant that is grounded in the love of God and the commitment of the couple to one another.

Through the exchange of vows and the blessing of the priest, the couple is joined together in a lifelong bond of love and commitment. The couple is called to be a witness to the love of God in the world, to support one another in their faith, and to nurture the love that they share.

Whether you are a lifelong Catholic or someone exploring the Catholic Church, the sacrament of Matrimony is a powerful reminder of the importance of love, commitment, and family in our lives. It is an invitation to consider how we can build strong, healthy, and loving relationships with others, and to be inspired by the example of those who have been called to a life of marriage and family in the Church.
